Bird Research on Fort Hood

Scott Summers is the April speaker for San Saba Bird and Nature Club. Scott comes to us from the US Army Fort Hood base where he works as a wildlife biologist. Ongoing bird research has been conducted at Fort Hood for the last several decades. Scott will share with us both army success stories and challenges regarding endangered bird species that nest there.

Scott Summers grew up in Copperas Cove and is a biologist and Natural Resources outreach coordinator at Fort Hood. Scott graduated high school at Copperas Cove in 1988, graduated Texas State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Wildlife Biology in 1994.

“My position helps make a better environment for birds & military training, which is important for everyone living in the greater Fort Hood/Killeen area. I learn a lot in my job and I enjoy sharing it with the public. My work serves as part of a larger role of conservation with Fort Hood Hunt Control and Fort Hood Game Wardens.”

We welcome Scott Summers, on Tuesday, April 17, 2018. Come join us at the San Saba Civic Center, 1190 S. Thomas Stewart Drive, San Saba, TX., 2pm. Come early and visit. All with an interest are welcome to attend.
