San Saba Bird and Nature Club welcomes Amanda Gobeli, on Tuesday, January 16, 2018. Ms. Gobeli will present a program on the causes of Northern Bobwhite quail decline. When she visited last spring, she brought along Kirby, a rescued quail with tons of personality! Everyone with an interest is welcome to attend. Join us at the San Saba Civic Center, 1190 S. Thomas Drive, at 2 PM. Arrive early and visit.

Amanda is an employee of Texas A&M Agri-Life Extension working on the “Reversing the Quail Decline Initiative,” a program dedicated to providing resources for quail conservation and management. She has studied quail for more than 4 years, beginning with her Master’s research at University of North Texas. Her work on the Quail Decline Initiative includes educational programs, articles on quail related topics, and coordination of the Texas Quail Index—a statewide data collection effort for monitoring quail populations and resources.
