Who We Are
Founded in August of 2010, San Saba Bird and Nature Club first formed to serve as a support group for our city parks. When planning began for the LCRA San Saba River Nature Park, we realized advocates were needed for nature related activities within the park. As nature enthusiasts, we wished to share our passion for native birds, their ecosystems, and introduce visitors to local birding hotspots.
What We Do
SSBNC has monthly meetings and occasional field trips September through May. We built and maintain the Bird Viewing Blind in the San Saba River Nature Park. We helped establish the Butterfly Garden. Each June we support and help with Kids Nature Kamp where 8-12 year old children learn about birds, gardening, and the water cycle. Our email group enjoys a virtual nature watch year round with photography and observations provided by members.
SSBNC is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
